The GroupM IT team in WPP IT are the technology solutions partner for the GroupM group of agencies and are accountable for co-ordinating and assuring end-to-end change delivery, managing the GroupM IT technology life-cycle and innovation pipeline.
As we continue this journey, we have identified the need for a pivotal role – IT Project Analyst as we are reimaging and simplifying our local system landscape globally.
This role will work as part of the Local Systems Team being responsible for hand on supporting and ensuring the smooth running and successful delivery of the initiatives coming from cross market assessment. This role will be part of the Application Portfolio Management (APM) community, reporting into the Application Portfolio lead and global management team.
APM provides managers with an inventory of an organization's software, APM is driven by value focused approach, with analytic, process, benefits & cost control through tools that are fit for purpose. Acting as a key liaison between the teams involved in the transformation initiative, you will be collaborating with all stakeholders on multiple levels to help deliver value from inception through to delivery and beyond. This is a newly formed role and will contribute to an Application Portfolio community built on continuous learning, a support network for more than 150 colleagues supporting more than a 1000 local business system around the world.
What you'll be doing:
Develop a thorough understanding of Application Landscape by collecting, consolidate and analyse data, prioritize issues to get to an accurate global overview of the application landscape and metrics to illustrate the business benefits of each application.
Owns and drives the reporting activity on the Application Portfolio management initiatives E2E
Supports the senior local market professionals on the Application Portfolio mapping initiatives with any additional business and user documentation that might be necessary – business cases, requirements gathering, use cases, process mapping, etc; ensures those meet agreed standards and outcomes and are socialised and validated with impacted stakeholders.
Work with project teams throughout the implementation process of new sites, applications, or dashboards; advise on best practices, create support guide documents, guidelines, provide training and regular follow-ups
Use and leverage MS Visio, PowerPoint, PowerBI, SharePoint Online and other related Office 365 services to build and support business solutions and technical visualizations.
Ensures all documentation, processes and tools across the APM initiatives meet WPP IT standard; drives the use, adoption and embedment of best practices, standards and agreed templates
Ensure ongoing application portfolio projects and initiatives once captured are properly planned for future delivery and business stakeholder expectations are managed/met
Supports the wider team in the IT project and PMO analysis, building out new processes and procedures and inputs into the overall market engagement framework with a focus on continually evolving best practices, tools and standards for mobilisation and delivery; ensuring that these are adopted and adhered to universally across the delivery portfolio and continually improved.
What you'll need:
Essential Skills
Proven APM practitioners experience in gathering and analysing information about application in use in a business or organization, including the cost to build and maintain the application, the business value produced, the quality of the application, and the expected lifespan.
Experience with system and process mapping and visualization
Story telling with data – strong skills in building the case for change, identifying the business outcomes in dashboards, roadmaps and value proposition for the respective area
Experience in successful delivery, strategic, and operationally programmes, preferably with internal and external cross-functional teams
Ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging and working inclusively to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
Quick to learn and adaptable to changing priorities, with the ability to reshape, reconfigure and realign solutions to meet challenging deadlines without jeopardising the successful delivery of the programme.
A self-started with impeccable organisational and time management skills, focusing on value and outcomes; enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills; able to turn complex technical messages into effective, succinct communications; ability to manage and influence stakeholders with competing priorities.
Desired Skills
Experience in requisite project management tools is beneficial
Experience working in an Agile team as a Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master is beneficial.
