Job Description

Operations and Infrastructure Network Software Engineering team is responsible for building a world class infrastructure as code network automation platform that will be used to manage all aspects of Visa's Networking Infrastructure. This system will help deliver availability, performance and agility that is required by a Visa's web-scale, always-on network.

Network Software Engineering team is building the full stack solution for network automation to provide self service to create/modify networ kresources used by visa internal users. The technologies we use include Java, Springboot, Angular 8+, Node and Python Django just to name a few. We collaborate closely with each other in engineering, design and product teams, are passionate about excellence in technical design and coding, and strive for continuous learning and improvement.

You are passionate about developing well-architected Web applications and enjoy solving challenging technical problems that meet business objectives. You are just as comfortable leading teams and planning large scale technology projects, as you enjoy writing good code and supporting the execution of projects into production.

Responsibilities:
Develop features and improvements to the Network Automation Platform in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.

Collaborate with internal OI teams and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment improvements to product quality, security, and performance.

Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity for your team.
Shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
Provide mentorship for all Engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomy
Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects

Lead product feature teams from inception to launch

Key Responsibilities:
Full-stack development – contribute to the design of backend Services, API creation and consumption, and contribute to front end UI development
Works independently with minimal insight to develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
Takes ownership and is responsible for the design and delivery of one or more components of a project
Provides oversight and guidance to team members contributing to those components
Independently create multiple design artifacts for projects and present designs to team members and other stakeholders
Provides mentorship and guidance to more junior team members
Work with Technical Product Managers to break down solutions into smaller achievable tasks
Support test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, and other related activities.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2

years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work
experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more

years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

• B.S. in Computer Science or related degree and 6+ years of Software

Development Experience

• Expert in JAVA
• Expert in building and consuming REST APIs
• Expert knowledge with Spring Technologies
• Knowledge of Security and Authentication standards and technologies like

OAuth

• Comfortable in delivering presentations to small to medium size forums
• Experience with JavaScript and front-end technologies/frameworks

like JQuery, Angular 8+.

• Experience architecting solutions that is secure, resilient, and scalable
• Experience in building out a Continuous Integration and Continuous

Delivery pipeline

• Knowledgeable about Database technologies like MySql and NoSQL solutions
• Knowledgeable about network architecture, VIPS, and Firewalls
