Title: Specialist - IT Licensing

Job Purpose Statement
Sungard Availability Services & 11:11 Systems is looking for an experienced IT Licensing Specialist to manage the company’s service provider licensing (SPLA) processes for both internal and resold IT software licensing products. The IT Licensing Specialist must have excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to act quickly, be detail oriented, and build strong relationships with all suppliers and stakeholders sto ensure accurate procurement, service delivery, maintenance, and reporting of software licensing products. This is a full-time position and reporting to the IT Procurement Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procure software products from a variety of suppliers (Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, Cisco, etc.) to negotiate best pricing terms, monitor price changes, maintain pricing histories
2. Follow and provide input on company processes and policies around procurement and audit/reporting
3. Understand technical differences between software products applications and services and present to decision makers
4. Track when contracts & licenses expire and plan renewal negotiations far enough in advance to guarantee the best leverage in negotiating for the company
5. Gather, review and report monthly usage and licensing data to 11:11’s various technology partners
6. Understand technical differences between usage & licensing types (particularly Microsoft SPLA & CSP and VMware VCPP) and how each are billed and managed
7. Resolve product, usage & licensing issues with suppliers and manage any disputes
8. Follow and provide input on company processes and policies around usage & license management and reporting
9. Review supplier invoices to ensure they are accurate
10. Build and monitor ongoing supplier spending trend analyses to identify areas of savings and improvement for the company
11. Improve the international logistics capability
12. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
13. Collaborate with key internal teams to improve clarity of specifications and product delivery
14. Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
15. All other duties as assigned
Technical Competencies (Experience and Knowledge)
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, related field or 2 years relevant experience
Strong understanding of Microsoft Service Provider Licensing models
Excellent communication skills including presentation and negotiation abilities
Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint etc.)
Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
Experience in collecting and analyzing data, then reporting on data to decision makers
Skills and Behavioral Competencies
Demonstrative experience in managing licensing agreements or architecting or deploying complex software environments
Prior experience in managing and reporting SPLA usage
Prior experience with a Managed Services Provider supporting Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, and/or Cisco deployments
