Responsibilities:
The SQL Server DBA is responsible for taking care of DBA operations and Projects within Cloud Managed Services to support multiple clients hosted by Cloud Managed Services. The work includes Installing SQL Server Software, creating Databases, performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels, trouble shooting SQL server, Database and performance tuning issues, create, handling all types of backups, refreshes and recovery procedures and performing daily routine DBA operations tasks .
Requirement:
Installing the SQL Server latest versions and clustering.
Performance Tuning/Troubleshooting the issues at Instance/Database/Query Level.
High Availability Configurations for Log shipping/Mirroring/Clustering/Replication/Always on.
Capacity/Security/Auditing/Compliance – Planning
Operating System Windows 2003/2008/2012 and above In Physical/Virtual Environment
Upgrading SQL Servers from 2012 to SQL Server 2014, 2016 and 2019 versions in a complex environment.
Applying Service packs and Hot fixes on all the environment servers (DEV, UAT, and PRD).
Monitoring/Troubleshooting Log shipping /DB Mirroring/Replication/Clustering.
Backup/Restore, Index Rebuild/Defrag. Adhoc Backup/Restore of the database by means of SSMS/third party tools.
All kinds of Backup and Restore Activities using native backup process and using any other 3rd part tool.
Monitoring Instances, Configuring and Enabling alerts using any other 3rd part tool.
Respond and Troubleshoot database related problems reported by customers.
Adding Linked Servers (SQL Servers).
Analyzing and troubleshooting the long running queries, blocking queries.
Automate the routine tasks.
Experience in handling Oracle databases along with RAC, ASM.
Experience in handling Oracle Databases on Unix machines.
Experience in Refreshes, Upgrades, Patching of Oracle Databases.
