SUMMARY

Open Source Software (OSS) brings innovation and development speed into SAP products. But it also brings severe security and licensing risks. Open Source Software Security (OS3) team provides SAP internal tools and solutions to mitigate these risks in the most efficient and effective way.

ROLE

We are looking for a passionate Senior developer with very good programming skills, team-oriented nature, and agility. You will be a part of the high-performing, motivated, and incredibly supportive OS3 team.
You will work in two main areas:
• You will contribute to the domain of OSS scanning tools and ensure delivery of service excellence for commercial tools Mend, Black Duck and Black Duck Binary Analysis scanners. For these commercial tools you will develop micro-services and provide CI/CD support.
• You will contribute to the development of SAP´s new micro-services-based service for secure usage of OSS in collaboration with leading CI/CD, security experts from central teams and LoBs
• Design, implement and improve OSS related processes and tools continuously
• Resolve complex design problems in OSS related processes and tools
• Evaluate 3rd party tools and concepts to recommend the most suitable ones for secure development of widely spread and newest languages/technologies in SAP
• Plan and test new features and new releases of OSS tools
• Evaluate business and product requirements of the LoBs and translate them into technical requirements for the services and tools
• Align with LoBs regarding implementation of the proposed services and tools
• Ensure high availability and troubleshoot/mitigate issues
• Extend and share Open Source Scanning knowledge with the community via collaboration platforms, trainings or presentations in internal venues

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with minimum 9+ years of experience in software development
• Very strong competencies in data structures and algorithms
• Advanced knowledge and experience in continuous delivery development processes in an agile environment
• Proficiency in web and application development with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Go, python, SQL
• Experience in DevSecOps concepts, micro services, event-driven architectures, Web Services, APIs, public clouds (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), application security
• Self-motivated, self-driven, curious, open minded, resourceful, and flexible team-player with the ability to learn quickly
• Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) Cloud Foundry (SAP CP CF) environment and experience in OSS security area are an added advantage
