Master Principal/Principal Cloud Architect – Packaged Applications, JAPAC CE CoE
The JAPAC Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence (CE CoE) is a new regional organisation across Japan and Asia Pacific whose role is to accelerate consumption of Oracle Cloud Services by providing a world-class customer experience on the Oracle Cloud. Customers will have access to cutting edge and deep technical subject matter expertise and solutions. The CoE is organized by Technology Domains such as Infrastructure, Packaged Applications, Custom Applications, Data Management, Analytics and others, which will provide relevant subject matter expertise in engagements. The primary goal of these teams is to move customer workloads to production environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for Strategic customer implementations and for the Pitch to Production (P2P) initiative.

Skills and Profile
Proven technical leadership on E-Business Suite + minimum one other Oracle Application (Siebel, PeopleSoft (preferred) or JD Edwards) implementations.
Have clear understanding on E-Business Suite (Version 12.1.x and 12.2.x) deployment & multi-node architecture
Has performed tasks like patching, creating backup and recovery strategies, upgrading (applications upgrade say from version 12.1.3 to 12.2.x and database upgrade for an EBS environment), cloning performance tuning/optimization of Oracle EBS environments.
Proven expertise in all aspects of the Oracle Applications lifecycle such as development, deployment, customizations, patching and upgrades
Have a good understanding and working experience on EBS R12 Applications DBA utilities and has used these utilities to perform maintenance of the multi node EBS environment with Shared File System, managing and administering Concurrent Managers, Concurrent Programs, Request Sets, Request Groups, Workflows, and troubleshooting Workflow Mailer/Notification issues
Have deep knowledge of the Oracle technology stack such as Oracle Database, DBCS, Exadata / ExaCS, Autonomous Database, Fusion Middleware. Thorough understanding and working experience of Oracle database options like multi-tenant , advanced security option , label security, database vault , partitioning , real application cluster is an added plus.
Have working experience on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS and Database related PaaS services including Autonomous Database and Exadata Cloud Service). Understands OCI networking constructs used within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Understands database migration strategies and is conversant using database migration tools. Have migrated EBS database tier from IaaS, DBCS to ExaCS or vice versa for an EBS environment hosted in OCI. Has exposure and have used Oracle database migration tools used to migrate Oracle database(s) to Oracle Cloud with minimal or no downtime.
Has working experience converting an EBS environment with single database instance environment to RAC
Thorough understanding of DR and HA architectures for Oracle Applications. Has previously implemented Disaster Recovery site for EBS either between on-prem and Oracle Cloud or between two Oracle Cloud Regions.
Have a clear understanding on how to perform EBS platform migration to OCI.
Has working knowledge on EBS Cloud Manager and has performed lift and shift of an EBS environment to OCI using EBS Cloud Manager. Migration of EBS environments from on-premises to OCI using other methods will be an added plus.
Previously led large-scale, multi-national Oracle Applications deployment and implementation experience in a lead/subject matter expert (SME) capacity
Has designed and implemented operational support processes and understands key challenges customers are facing during implementation and migration of Oracle Applications
Strong understanding of Application hosting environments such as Managed Data Centres, Cloud based infrastructure and Virtualized environments
Experience in integration of Oracle Applications with other applications like Web Services, SOA, mobile applications, Oracle SaaS applications and other integration approaches
At least 10-12 years of overall relevant professional experience, including ideally 6+ years of Oracle E-Business Suite Applications based solutions including at least 3-4 years in a cloud environment
Deep relevant technical expertise and background working in organization in an Engineering, Architecture, Development, Sales Consulting or Consulting role
Proven and demonstrable solution knowledge in PaaS and IaaS and Hybrid Cloud architecture and solutions
Works cross-LOB to develop architecture solutions and IaaS blueprints to integrate customer IT and customer business process changes to support strategic business needs.
Able to lead project implementations involving lift and shift EBS environments from on-premises or other cloud platforms to OCI.
Be a customer advocate on new solutions for enterprise business applications on IaaS.
Research deployment alternatives and provide design recommendations to both internal and external team
Discuss key trends and insights and leverage them in driving executive decision-making discussion with customers
Excellent communication and presentation skills and highly comfortable speaking across all levels of management and technical audiences
Build strong relationships with HQ Engineering/Product Management teams to be a customer advocate with HQ Development on required enhancements or in support escalations
Clearly able to understand and articulate the Oracle Go-To-Market strategy in JAPAC across the Oracle portfolio
Understanding of commercial business to effectively position Oracle solutions and why they offer superior TCO vs competition.
Experience with Agile and SCRUM-based projects or working with rapid and iterative technical design/implementation projects
Ability to multi-task and work with virtual teams across different engagements
Flexible to travel when required. Relevant local language skills are a plus
Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver successful Customer Engagements leading to increased consumption
Collaborate with the cloud architects in the field to define the scope and deliverables of the customer implementations and deliver them as part of a virtual team
Support the cloud architect in describing the proposed workload migration to the customer thereby gaining their confidence.
Ensure the work delivered is of the highest quality and to the deadlines committed.
Leverage reference architectures and associated assets to automate as much of the migration as possible.
Actively participate in the team meetings undertaking the migration using an Agile methodologies
Transfer skills to customer, partner or other delivery organizations during the migration to ensure a seamless customer experience post the involvement of the CoE team
Thought Leadership and Evangelism
Continuously invest in deepening domain skills by taking relevant training courses
Work closely with HQ Development to gain early competence in new domain solutions.
Have a deep understanding of the competitors equivalent cloud offerings and OCI competitive differentiators
Speak at industry events and seminars
Cross-collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely and collaboratively as one team with other CoE Infrastructure team members, field cloud architects and other domains within the CoE.
Contribute to the relevant Communities of Practice (CoP) to foster better collaboration between CoE and the Field
Identify and develop team assets (white papers, blogs, slack support, reference architectures, and software migration components) to help other groups gain relevant experience in deploying their domain solutions on OCI.
Governance & Reporting
Complete all relevant certifications and other mandatory enablement
Fully understand and leverage the systems in place to support customer workload migrations and other strategic engagements.
Provide timely status updates and other reports as required.

This role is based in India.
Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
Responsible for engaging with strategic and more complex customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers and at conferences and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new solutions, products, and processes. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Acts as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Minimum qualifications include: 12 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic.
Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 12 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of penetrating accounts, meeting stakeholders within accounts, and interaction with C level; Competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 12 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.
