About the department
Global Medical Affairs, GBS (GMA GBS) is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs team in Headquarters (HQ) in Denmark, is based out of Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore, India. The team consists of highly motivated global medical advisor, global scientific advisors, medical writer, project managers, graphic designers and publication manager working together with medical affairs organizations across the globe - , International Operations – strategic office (IO-SO), Zurich, Switzerland, regional medical affairs units namely Asia Pacific (APAC) based at Dubai, North West Europe (NWE) based at Copenhagen, Denmark and Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) based at Princeton, USA.
Our core competencies are communicating scientific and medical knowledge on our products to the external scientific community and across the organization; delivering external medical events including in-house content development and project management and publication planning.
Reporting to the Vice President of Global Medical Affairs, you are in charge for the overall performance of the team including timely planning and proper execution of projects and deliverables. Further, you are responsible for the performance and development of approximately 20 dedicated employees including three people managers. Your role will be required to set the direction to the team, setting the strategies and ensure high professional structure and standards within the team.
Subsequently, you will be responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate and credible scientific medical guidance across medical affairs for the internal and external stakeholders. Above all, your experience working with global stakeholders and cross functional teams will help you to collaborate successfully in this role.
We expect you to be a Science graduate/ post-graduate and has the below qualifications:
Has minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience. Affiliate (back office and/or field) experience preferred
People management experience of at least 4 years
Additional education and experience in pharma business/marketing
Willingness to coach colleagues and support team development
Teamwork skills, ability to get results through others and to work in a highly motivated team
Extrovert, engaged, dynamic, results-driven
Ability and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment
Ability to engage and collaborate with people with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.)
Excellent networking abilities
Experience and willingness to work in an international matrix organization
Excellent presentation skills
Passionate about influencing industry from a medical point of view
Ability to manage complex tasks and organizational issues
Ability to engage and collaborate with people of different cultural background
