Your team responsibilities
Administration and maintenance of DB Systems and related MS Azure Cloud VMs.
Planning and execution of On-Prem to Cloud database migration.
Monitoring database performance across the production, beta and development services.
Shell scripting and automation of DBA tasks and critical project deliveries.
Handling of database backups, restore and recovery scenarios
In-depth performance analysis using OEM, AWR, ASH, TKPOF, internal tracing etc.
Troubleshoot P1/MI incidents and find the RCA, permanent resolution to ensure maximum uptime and database performance stability.
Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls.
Proactive database review to optimize and simplify architecture and performance.
Database Operation support and handling of database request tickets and alerts.
Capacity planning and space management.
Planning and execution of database migration and upgrade from 12c to 19c.
Support and collaborate with Infrastructure, application and development teams.
Implement and fine tune disaster recovery solutions – standby/Active Dataguard.
Create a reliable backup strategies. Ensure database backups are appropriately executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.
Determine and document DB policies, procedures and standards.
Ensure Change process and required scripts and run books for the executions.
Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues.
Work on automation and scripting for time consuming DBA tasks/projects and ensure optimum and quality deliveries.
Work on OEM alerts fine tuning and also ensure effective monitoring dashboards and customized database alerts.
Periodic Patching of Database and Cloud VM instances.
Support for table partitioning and effective index designs
Recommend/implement stable stats gathering policies and other Oracle recommended standards suitable to MSCI environment.
Database Encryption, Compression, Edition and Transportable tablespace
Active support for database operations, projects and Engineering deliveries.
Ensure SLA's & operational KPI’s are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions when major incidents occur.
Readiness to learn No-SQL (Cassandra/Mongo DB, Neo4J ) and start with L1/L2 support.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel
A University Graduate and Oracle Certified DB Professional (OCP) with more than 5+ years of experience
Experience should include DB design, capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, back-up and recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies, database upgrade, migration, patching, SQL tracing, analyze AWR/ASH.
1+ years of experience with Cloud Infrastructure and fundamental Certifications
Operating system experience in Linux. Basic Shell Scripting.
Oracle management tools (OEM, Data Guard, RMAN, Data pump).
Table Partitioning and Index designing.
Database Encryption, Compression, Edition and Transportable tablespace
Architecture design principles
Excellent communication skills and good problem solver
Hands on experience with DB standards
Strong practical experience of Oracle production databases on ASM environment.
Must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to process information logically ·
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments ·
Ability to communicate technical information effectively ·
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others ·
Ability to assess future information needs so that the databases can evolve in an appropriate manner.
Ability to develop reports and cross references from the data dictionary.
