The CIB Regulatory Technology team has built next generation petabyte size data platform in AWS public cloud capable of processing tens of billions of daily trade events. The team has been innovating and driving strategy for data platforms and public cloud adoption in partnership with central leadership team in JP Morgan and Amazon. The team has a large book of work especially to handle ever growing increase in trading message volumes, drive architecture to next level with server less processing and elastic scale, apply machine learning to resolve operation breaks and build end to end observability to name a few. Team is also responsible for championing cloud adoption across CIB being the first data platform in JPMC at this scale in AWS.
The primary responsibility is to lead Tradevault Mumbai team of 30+ engineers and build a first class engineering team in Mumbai/Bengaluru. Candidate will be expected to have a strong technical skills and be a hands on technologist who can learn inner workings of various technologies and solve complex problems related streaming and reporting in AWS. Candidates should also possess excellent inter-personal skills to partner with CTO and CIB technical leads to resolve blockers and drive adoption of public cloud.
Provides technical direction and manages a team of around 35 people.
Learn and become expert in various technologies used in Tradevault in AWS.
Build expert level hands on technical skills to resolve challenges with migrating 1000+ complex regulatory reports to big data in AWS.
Develop, Deploy and support large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment
Effectively manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate decision-making by providing right level of information and timely escalation, when required.
Solid track record and experience in building large scale data warehouses and enterprise data platforms handling critical data.
Aware of latest technology trends on data platforms and public cloud.
Hands on experience in building large data platforms using Spark, Kafka & Hadoop.
Experience with query processing and tuning reports from Hive, SparkSQL
Knowledge of modern development lifecycles, such as Agile and iterative development
Excellent Communications Skills and ability to mentor and build strong engineering teams.
Prior experience in public cloud is preferred but not required and can be learn on the job.
The successful candidate should also possess the following attributes:
Bachelors or Master's degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Strong work ethic, self-starter who is creative with a 'can-do' attitude
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and independently, while maintaining a high degree of communication and escalation
Team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work with tight deadlines
