Introduction
Our Cloud Z team is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the key components of the stack Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Architecture - OpenShift Container Platform (developer services), OpenShift Kubernetes Engine (Cluster services). We tightly collaborate with the Redhat and international development teams of IBM (e.g. hardware and firmware development), the global maintainers of Open Source communities.

Your responsibilities will comprise of design and specifications for new enhancements, coding (including test automation), problem determination and bug fixing, performance analysis, and solving client problems. Your attendance at Open Source community meetings is value add

Your Role and Responsibilities

Our Cloud team is responsible for enhancing, managing and orchestrating the full stack ( Standard interfaces to manage systems, Utilites, Value added services, & CI/CD). We tightly collaborate with the international development teams of IBM (e.g. hardware and firmware development) and colloborate with several Linux global maintainers of Open Source communities, and our Linux distribution partners (Red Hat, SUSE, Canonical). Our focus is on the support of the IBM Z / LinuxONE architecture, e.g. OCP Base, Addons (ODO, Compliance operator),...etc.. Linux on IBM Z / LinuxONE forms the basis of many of IBM's commercial solutions in Cloud, Analytics and AI.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Strong proficiency in C++, excellent debugging skills using lldb. (Development/Fixing issues in Linux environment)
8 -12 years of overall industrial experince (Experience with Kubernetes environment)
Experience with development or implementation in Unix or Linux environments.
Expertize in working with Python programming, designing, developing and leading new feature enablement for private/public clouds
Basic understanding of Virtualization and knowledge of implimenting Virtualization features across the stack. (Knowledge of Network Virtualization is Plus)
Experience with K8S/Container orchestration is Plus
Troubleshooting K8s environment, Automation, CI/CD, working on PoC, demos
Familiarity with Cloud Technologies, Cloud architecture
Exposure to Private cloud or public cloud would be an added advantage

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with fixing big endian issues, Background in working with databases
Fundamental knowledge of Openstack based clouds, cloud architecture, familiarity with Storage Technoligies (SAN/NAS infrasturcture
Basic understanding of cloud, e.g. OpenStack, IaaS concepts etc
Basic understanding of IBM zSystems architecture, LPAR, PR/SM (Knowelge of DPM would be a plus)
