As a Database Administrator, you will work with the DBA team to support the design of the database solutions that addresses users’ needs by optimizing system performance while helping to drive the company’s business strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support multiple MS SQL 2012 to 2019 or 2016 RDBMS on large systems with 10+TB Databases.
Help design and develop databases that are high performance oriented and maintenance free
Assist Sr. DBA in ensuring Altruista servers are highly secure
Work on Data Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams and Data Structure Plan for database growth, capacity planning, and scalability
Perform technical activities such as installation, upgradation, and configuration of SQL Server databases
Support the development of logical data modeling, physical data modeling, and data flow
Help develop data scripts, troubleshoot application code and assist developers with performance tuning.
Experience to design and implement SQL Server Migration Strategies.
Strong working experience with Cluster, Always ON, Mirroring, Log Shipping, and Replication.
Well versed with creating file groups, Table Partitioning.
Good knowledge with tools like (Foglight, AppD, Redgate, CommVault, JIRA)
Detect and troubleshoot DB Server CPU, Memory, I/O and other resource contention
Aid with troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking
Perform routine and customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure the database environment is stable and capable of meeting ongoing business needs
Create scheduled maintenances and backup procedures to the database as a disaster recovery method
Other duties as assigned.
The Database Administrator is not a supervisory role. You will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required
3-5 years of experience with database technology
Experience working with SQL in Azure IaaS and PaaS environments preferred
Experience working with T-SQL Scripting is preferred
Experience working with PowerShell to build automated maintenance processes required
Experience working in a high performing DevOps environment is a plus
Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions (VMWare and Amazon Cloud) with hands-on experience in direct API integration is an advantage
Should be flexible to working in 24/7 Shifts
CCNA Certification Required
CCNA - Security Certification preferred
