Purpose

Boston Scientific is looking for an experienced developer to support SAP BW and HANA Analytics projects within an SAP Enterprise Competency Center. This person will be in a lead developer role on the SAP BW and HANA Analytics team. In this role, this person will analyze, design, document, test and deliver business systems and Information System process solutions to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

Build solutions in BW 7.5, BW4 and HANA studio utilizing the latest modelling techniques provided by SAP to support Enterprise Data Warehousing and Data Analytics.
Design and develop BW data models & data flow objects in SAP BW 7.x on HANA and BW4 HANA
Build InfoCubes, ODS/DSO, Multi-providers, Composite providers, Open ODS, Transient providers, transformations, extractors, datasources and required routines.
Design and develop complex BEx queries, Analysis for Office Workbooks to meet reporting requirements
Providing expertise and advice on potential enterprise data warehouse solutions and designs that are pragmatic, robust and supportable
Reviewing developer designs and sometimes designing solutions for an enterprise data warehouse built using SAP BW, SAP HANA and SAP SAC.
Converting ad hoc and proof of concept solutions/models into a production ready solution in SAP BW and SAP HANA
Configure and install SAP BW Business Content
Activate, Configure & Enhance Generic and Business Content Extractors by functional area
Optimize reporting and data load performance through Query monitoring tool, Aggregates, Indexes, InfoCube Compression, InfoCube Partitioning and Statistics.
Develop and trouble shoot ABAP programs including user exits, function modules and start/end/expert routines
Resolve technical issues including diagnosis of problem, recommendations for workarounds and defect correction
Stay updated with the latest BI and Information Management technology, product offerings, trends and ensuring the organization’s strategy and roadmap is aligned
Evaluate new SAP BI technologies by building proof of concepts and demonstrations
Adopt data modeling & data flow design best practices to develop robust & scalable solutions.
Work collaboratively with other BI and Information Management specialists to mentor and enhance knowledge & capability across delivery and support teams
Create and maintain all required technical documentation per IS methodology and processes
Understand customer’s business implications and incorporate understanding into technical and process improvement recommendations
Appropriately communicate project status, escalate issues, and manage timelines and action items

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Proven hands on experience with SAP BW
Proven hands on experience with SAP HANA
Proven experience with design and architecture of enterprise wide Data Warehouse environments
Proven experience with data modelling at a conceptual and physical level
Proven experience with formulating governance standards and guidelines around design/development of solutions
Strong ABAP Programming skills required
Strong SQL Scripting skills
Experience in Upgrade and Migration projects.
Experience with Jira, Windchill, Tableau, SQL, and Microsoft Office applications
Experience working in an agile-based delivery model
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies
Ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
Demonstrated ability to work with people in other areas across the enterprise to accomplish desired outcomes
Self-starter with strong, proactive work ethic
Exceptional organizational & time management skills
Should have good knowledge in S/4 Functional & Analytical offerings.
Designing data models in SAP SAC is desirable.
Experience with Medical Device or Life Sciences beneficial
