ABL Space Systems was founded in 2017 by veterans of SpaceX and Morgan Stanley to develop low-cost launch vehicles for the small satellite industry. We are seeking a Commodities & Equipment Specialist to play a significant role in the purchasing and/or renting of equipment, materials, supplies, and services necessary for ABL sites. This role is responsible for reviewing and coordinating documentation, including requests for quotes, bids, proposals, one-time orders, and multi-term orders in accordance with ABL's policies. You should be a hands-on person with great attention to detail, strong written and oral communication, a people first attitude, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with constant change.

• Quote and manage all rented and owned equipment across all ABL sites (Forklifts, Trucks, Generators, Shipping Containers, ISO Tanks, etc.)
• Arrange all scheduled maintenance and recertification for all rental and owned equipment across all ABL sites.
• Monitor and respond to Site Commodity trackers.
• Quote and purchase all Commodities (Gases & Propellants) for all ABL test and launch sites.
• Track and document the location and status of all company commodity assets (rented & owned).
• Lead comprehensive sourcing lifecycle from RFQ to contract execution.
• Drive ongoing supplier optimization and continuous improvements.
• Coordinate all incoming deliveries of commodities and return of empty equipment for refill and return shipment to each site.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a commodity inventory strategy that supports ABL’s supply chain.
• Liaison with various teams across the organization including Production, Engineering, Finance, and Legal.
• Establish, manage, and maintain external relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
• Develop and present tailored supplier strategies to senior level leadership.
• Analyzes supplier operations to determine factors that affect prices and lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
• Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across all given commodity vendors and equipment vendors.

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 2+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience
• Ability to prioritize appropriately to meet internal customer and company needs
• Ability to evaluate procurement bids in accordance with established criteria
• Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality
• Knowledge of internal and external auditing
• Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
• Driven, highly motivated, and committed to improvement
• Ability to add something unique and positive to our team
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university or comparable purchasing experience
• Possess an established track record of procuring multiple commodities within an aerospace or manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with complex supply chain and logistics.

• Position may require long hours and weekend work when needed 
• Position may require domestic travel up to 10%

The salary range for this role is $70,000-$92,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

ITAR Requirement
